From the Clinic to the Classroom (SCRANTON): Preparing for Puberty in Individuals with Developmental Disabilities


This free training series is presented by Geisinger’s Autism & Developmental Medicine Institute (ADMI) in partnership with the University of Scranton'Panuska College of Professional Studies and Friendship House.


Presentation by Cora Taylor, PhD and Matthew Kinney, MA, BCBA

This presentation will cover a range of topics related to puberty in individuals with special developmental needs, including:

• Helping children understand and prepare for body changes associated with puberty
• Encouraging good hygiene
• Understanding public/private behaviors
• Handling issues surrounding boundaries and relationships
